Although we couldn't pinpoint the specific cause for the missing crucial system notifications (like account verification, subscription updates, invoices, receipts, and login info), the support crew was dedicated to making sure that all upcoming messages would come through just fine.

"Quality Has Dipped Over Time"
I've been with Liquid Web for more than a decade, but I've seen their support take a nosedive in the last couple of years. Depending on who picks up your ticket, you might get help from a savvy engineer or someone who just can't seem to get to the bottom of your problem.
I'm really let down by how they handle renewals. Instead of giving you a discounted upfront payment option for one or two years, they make you wait until your current contract is up to figure out the new rates.
The invoices they send out via email always show a balance of zero. To find out what you actually owe, you have to log into your management dashboard. I've caught errors in my invoices now and then, but only after I took a good look at them online each month.
Not long ago, they did an upgrade on a system during a late-night weekend. Right after that, I started getting high load alerts every hour on the dot. When I reached out to support, the first tech tried to tell me it was a memory problem and suggested I upgrade my server. I hung up and called back. The next tech admitted there was a problem on their side but wouldn’t give me any details and insisted on opening a ticket. But he didn’t even create the ticket after I hung up.
When I called again because I hadn’t received the ticket, the technician finally explained that an upgrade to their backend had messed up the backup disk storage, which was causing the issue. He created a ticket, unmounted my storage, and then I had to wait a whole week for a fix.
Even with all these headaches, I still want to have faith in Liquid Web and keep hosting with them. But these little annoyances are making me think about checking out other VPS options.
I've set up a bunch of clients on their own Liquid Web VPS servers and manage their sites on those. This leads to extra service hours when multiple VPSs get hit by a backend upgrade.
Right now, I’d give them a 3 out of 5. They really need to step up their game in support consistency, be clearer with billing, and sort out renewal options before each annual contract wraps up. Since they’re not the cheapest option out there, they’ve got to tackle these issues to keep long-time customers around.

"It used to be better."
I have been a customer of Liquid Web for over 10 years, but I have noticed a decline in the quality of their support in the past two years. Depending on who handles your ticket, you may either receive assistance from a knowledgeable engineer or someone who struggles to identify and resolve your issue.
I am extremely disappointed with their renewal process. Instead of offering a discounted upfront payment option for 1 or 2 years, they make you wait until your current contract expires to determine the new pricing.
The invoices they send via email always show zero dollars. To find out the actual amount paid, you have to log into your management interface. I have discovered mistakes in my invoices from time to time, which I only noticed after closely reviewing them online each month.

Considering they are not a low-cost provider compared to their competition, they must address these issues to retain long-time customers.

Even though we were unable to identify the exact reason why important system messages (such as account confirmation, subscription confirmation, invoice, receipt, login details) were not being delivered, the support team was committed to ensuring that all future messages would be received correctly.

Alex Silkin really went the extra mile to help me switch to a new server. I was super frustrated and thought about going back to my old setup. But Alex stepped in, even though he wasn't on the migration team, and sorted out my problem. He listened to my concerns, even when the migration crew thought it wasn't a server issue. Thanks to Alex, he made a quick tweak to the server and saved the day. I'm really thankful he picked up my support call, as it was a tough three days trying to make sure everything was working right while moving two servers to new ones.

Alex Silkin has gone above and beyond to assist me with migrating to a new server. I was extremely frustrated and considering reverting back to my old server. However, Alex intervened, despite not being part of the migration team, and resolved my issue. He took the time to listen to my frustrations, even though the migration team believed it was not a server problem. Thanks to Alex, he made a small adjustment to the server and saved the day. I am grateful that he answered my support call, as it was a very stressful three days trying to ensure everything was functioning properly while transferring two servers to new ones.
